Oli Fasone-Lancaster's Nike Air Force 1 Low "Doernbecher" originated from the Doernbecher Freestyle program, where Nike allows patients from OHSU Children's Hospital to design their own shoe. Oli, an aspiring chef, built it on a cream leather base with a gum sole: olive branches etched on the Swoosh and heel, illustrated vegetables on the midsole, and a translucent sole with rainbow hues, the symbol he painted during his treatment. On the tongue, the number 572: the laps he completed in the hospital.
A detail found on no other AF1: the side Swoosh incorporates three openings designed to hold a metal knife, fork, and spoon. Story before colorway.
