The Nike Mars Yard Overshoe is one of the most radical pieces from NikeCraft, the line that artist Tom Sachs develops with Nike. It takes the legendary Mars Yard 2.0 and encases it in a protective Dyneema cover—the waterproof fiber used for sails and nautical ropes—with a tension cord and two magnetic buckles; the outer layer rolls down to ventilate the foot.
Dubbed "March Yard" by Sachs himself (for March, the month when "you get wet feet"), it features a white base with Cobalt accents and Sport Red details on the buckles and heel. Functional art, collectible, and utility in one pair of sneakers.
